A sad sad deal...We have been heavy hearted as A Crew and as Friends... Jamie L. has lost her terribly long  battle with cystic fibrosis leaving behind her mom and dad sister and her beloved SD Buddy. We miss her but she has shown us bravery beyond measure, an example we should all follow. Many Hugs Jamie for all the ones I couldn't give you here. Breathe easy my friend!

Mark and I are going to take Our Pack to Gun Powder Hammerman Area Beach... We will be getting some sun, R & R, Cook Out and do some swimming with our pack.
Pets ARE allowed On Leash - We will provide the grill and Charcoal but it is {$5 in season and $3 off season} per car entry {if you leave for any reason you must repay to reenter} It Will also Be B Y O B - {unless enough folks choose to share in things brought}
Bring Your Own Burger! We will share what We have- it is in our nature - it will be a great time and great fun to play volley ball, board games, Frisbee and other things We will bring…you are more than welcome to bring what you wish and share if you like.

Hobbling around on this stupid foot that I have no idea how I broke was fun…uncomfortable…but fun! Saw some old friends and made some NEW ones…

Our Hosts for the evening were so wonderful…sent Us their regular players so that We could get a head a little bit on some things that are Newly Opening Up like “Fila’s Flying Fingers” {Starting Wednesday, June 12th, ‘13} and even wanted to help set up and break down – We luv’d it so much We want to do it again soon!

Our Sponsors for this evening were many fewer than at 10 Pin but just as Worthy of Gratitude! Food Lion Donated the Raffle Prize of $250.00 Grocery spree which was won by a NEW Friend of Ours from the D/deaf Community Tiffany T. Once again CONGRATS!! Our 2nd Sponsor was K & G Fashion Superstore donating the door prizes of 2 $25.00 Gift cards and those were won by Jason K. And Our Own Wes Jensen of Arrowwood Shepherds {Woodbine}! And grand thanks to Wes for joining Us crazies…and to Ira Hartwell of A Breed Apart {Annapolis} An honor to finally meet THE MAN who gave Us The MAN! It is so nice to join forces with best of the best - here’s to a happy and prosperous friendship/client-ship!  

Amidst the running and fun the evening would not be complete if there were not some DRAMA!... Tiffany, the winner of the $250 Prize from Food Lion had her prize ‘stolen’ while filling out the legal paperwork…it was a heart-wrenching thing to think that someone there would do something so HORRIBLE to the very folks We are trying to keep safe from situations such as this…VIP Owner and Operator, Steve, IMMEDIATELY came in and ran a security video check – unfortunately to no avail. WeFila Service Crew were trying to figure out how to replace the prize – Our Beloved Wes…he offered to give his K & G Gift back to Us to give to Tiffany-that was a big NO! Wes won that prize fair and square {even if Ira Picked the winning ticket…LOL} We were not going to let this go without getting Tiffany her prize or the value thereof…being so tired and all the papers and clean-up for break down so VIP Regulars could get in there We all gave up for the night – We may have lost the momentary battle but We were set on winning the war!...

Saturday morning has me bright and early on the stores…local to Us and to VIP trying to see about the spending of the card or the canceling of it…this also to no avail…HQ was closed and the stores managers that I contacted wished Us luck – that was all they could do until corporate opened on Monday. 

Saturday afternoon, still exhausted didn’t do much in the ‘work’ area. I needed to keep the foot in the air and working in that position was an impossibility …Sunday Morning, work of reorganizing Our regular paperwork from fund raising paperwork began, LOW & BEHOLD…the envelopes Tiffany’s prize was in fell to the floor – all I could do was pray the card be there too – IT WAS!  We, Fila Service Crew, were ready to go and purchase another card {We stand on a standard and will not allow that to be tarnished!} and now no longer needed to do so – VIP is now proof positive – They run a clean operation where there is No Theft or strange on-goings…Just as We are VIP too is UP & UP Down to Earth Good Folks!

Now, begins trying to get this card back to Tiffany and her mom & brother….so far it looks like “Road Trip” and hope We find someone home!

Unfortunately for US, Fila Service Crew, Natalie is stepping down as Crew Services Coordinator as she pursues and conquers life. She is still a Very Large contributor to Our Organization and continues to be an active member! Make no mistake about it – when she is ready to return she will be welcomed with open arms!
Don't like losing Our Girl but Like that she is going places and making a HUGE imprint on the corner of her world!

This note is coming to you as a heads up / F Y I … Phase 2 is ready to roll – but I am going to give it a few days yet, so that minds can be made up in regards to what YOU WANT to do about the phase 2 and 3… and so on…

Phase 2 will be the ridding of FB Crew Members Group & headed back to www.meetup.com/FilaServiceCrew . Meet Up was meant to keep account of actual interested parties as CREW MEMBERS as well as announce all of Our activities, public appearances and venues – We need to return to that…so if you want to be on the inside looking out you can join Us there…if not you can then remain on the Outside Looking in – not knowing what you will be missing….

And so shall it be again! The high school games are truly tired already! Phase 1 got rid of several folks that were playing both sides of the fence…trying to pit one group against the other and causing lack of settlement between the 2 groups…Phase 2 will be disassembling FB Crew Member group so that we can finish getting rid of those little birdies that love their drama and wish to live in chaos…We would rather not! We are a bit too old to be playing children’s games and it is taking time away from the real issues at hand…-…besides on Meet Up they are tracking and deleting many…if you do not visit your group at least once a month and have not been there in 6 months they are automatically deleting folks…We have lost 2 members already in this manner. If you choose NOT to “JOIN” or “FOLLOW” Us that is fine but it will leave you as the last to know what is happening.

Our FB Page will still be up and running…however, there will be no postings of any info on events or other happenings until things are perfectly set in stone.

It is nice playing “FOLLOW the LEADER” and even nicer to know Our COAT-TAILS are being so well used…this game too will begin to cease on the other side of the fence due to lack of Publicly Posted info … so by the time the info IS posted Follow the Leader will be made more and more transparent/apparent!.

Phase 3 is just about complete as well {along with other phases to be announced accordingly} Just a few decisions left for Me to Make - one of which is - do I leave it as an open group or close it so that only CREW MEMBERS can see more than the front page…Hmmm…We’ll see as the time gets closer.

Please carefully consider this notice…it is nothing personal – it is just the nature of the beast – Business Sense! Hugs to all no matter your choice – We still love you and still would love to see you at Our events and Fund Raisers and anything else We will be doing/hosting.


Fila Service Crew is Growing and changing faster than imaginable and this growth is thanks to all of Our Supporters, Members and Friends.

It is also due to being true to Ourselves and all that are involved with Us.

We Owe a debt of Gratitude to Our very many faithful followers; there are some that We don’t know and many that We do know, either way Thank You does not say all that We truly feel for all that YOU do for US.

Now, on that note…

We are making a few changes to FB groups and other sites – We are going to do some Spring Cleaning of sorts… in order for Us to keep track of exactly who is for Us and who is not {“Crew”} some of the ways that We do things are going to change. As an Organization for the ‘public’ We must keep Our transparency to that public – hence, Our quarterly Meetings.

These meetings are meant for YOU; all of those that are involved with Us as “Pro Crew if you will - are the ones that come to meetings to help Us help Our communities. We have no interest in the fame but We do have interest in the forward motion you often hear Us refer to.

As the changes in group pages and sites happen please take no offense, and if you so choose, you may approach Us on the issue{s} you find unsavory.

Quarterly and Board meetings are held on a regular basis, voices heard and suggestions honored, this is the time set aside for YOU to address matters that are important to you as well as your little corner of the world. After all We are not all the same and We need as well as want the differences among Us to be what binds Us as a unit of progressiveness; in other words We need YOU to help Us know and understand what the needs are that are not being met; the needs that could be improved upon and things that We may not be aware of brought to Our Attention.

Laws…as a Charitable Organization there are many Laws that need following, regulation requirements, and a whole bunch of Uncle Sam stuff. In keeping in compliance WE cannot and will not be associating Ourselves, Our Organization or Our Crew with other organizations and/or people that have or are of questionable ethics or are not in compliance. We will not be taking sides, so to speak, on many issues – We remain neutral in order to serve and meet every possible need that We can.

With all this said, Please continue to keep up with Us so you can keep Us in check and doing the right thing by all of Our Communities…

We will miss her as a member but still hope to see her at Our events as long as she attends as a friend and not as an officer representing the other group. WE, Fila Service Crew, cannot and will not be associated with ANY appearance of violations of laws, invasion of privacy of OUR Members, Supporters and Clients and/or Friends. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~!~~~~~~~!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fila Service Crew and Our first  “Year In Review 2012”:
The old adage that “Time Flies When You’re Having Fun” most certainly applies to Us in 2012! Please don’t misunderstand me – this past year was a lot of hard work, many days and nights of frustration and some long arduous hours. Getting a business off the ground is hard enough; however, a NONPROFIT is even harder. There are many compliance issues on several different levels – for example – the federal, the local government entities as well as the IRS, the bigger end of it “Uncle Sam!”
We, Fila Service Crew, are so grateful for having the folks we do backing Us and watching out for Us. Getting Our corporation paper work directly in-between Christmas 2011 and New Years of 2012, We decided to make Our Actual date of anniversary 3 weeks later – January 21st, 2012 when We managed to have Our First Official MeetUp.
In the beginning things seemed to move along so well; being disabled Ourselves, We understand that “Life Happens”. We are no strangers to health issues holding Us back from things We want/have to do or making Us Late in doing those things. By nature, my personality, I am very skeptical about people in general - - I have come to the point in my life that I forgive myself to give others the benefit of doubt. Even with promises and assurance – people are people and are fallible – this includes me. It seems that whenever I do go against my initial feelings {Give others the benefit of doubt} I wind up on the back burner and left to ‘fry’. Such is what began year 1 for Fila Service Crew. Not only did promises and assurances of others get broken it caused such disarray with folks that were and {anonymously informed} still are very “High School-ish” and causing division between people that are SUPPOSED to be looking for the same causes/interests of Our Communities.
Through all of the child-like behaviors of others WE, Fila Service Crew, maintained the privacy of others according to the letter of the law: such as the privacy act and the amount of money in a drawing or raffle in which the winner is NOT obligated to advertise or be required to promote the event, and/or divulge personal information. We, Fila Service Crew, have been portrayed in a negative light {& anonymously – still are} to a large degree by others; yet people were smart enough to come to Us directly and draw their own conclusions. Those folks found that Fila Service Crew is on the Up & UP so much so that  We are very Proud Members of Maryland NonProfit Association; Councilman Peter Smith attends Our Meetings and invites Us to partake in community events such as one of the largest Christmas drives known – “Toys for Tots”.
Now that the not so good is out of the way - We can take a clearer look at Our Year in Review in conjunction with the 4th quarter…
We have gained memberships, volunteers, and departments – branches off the tree if you will… Make no mistake about it…I have erred in many areas and am woman enough to say so; However, I am also woman enough to fix and learn from mistakes made! We are going through the phases that most any other company – profit or Non Profit goes through…much of the costs of running and functioning have come via Our own pocket in order to keep Our services “FREE of CHARGE” for the disabled communities.
We are and have been in total compliance with all the laws at all levels of government since inception of Fila Service CrewWe are not that far off from our {501} {c} {3} – from the start of a NonProfit only 27 months are allowed to come into NonProfit status compliance – We are well within those time limits.
As for what Fila Service Crew has accomplished in 2012…
{Not necessarily and set order…}
ü  Have Our Maryland Traders license in for 2012-2013 {as we did for 2011 - 2012}
ü  Received Our Charitable Organization status through Maryland Secretary of State.
ü  Members of Maryland Nonprofit Association.
ü  Change of Registered Agent
ü  Combined Registration for the New Year in processing as We speak
ü  Held Our first Fund-Raiser with success even if not as donation oriented as We would have liked… but word is out and We are growing!
ü  Visual Alert Door Bell {temp} for Mary J. along with the blueprints ready for installation of permanent Visual Alert doorbell; Smoke Detector & CO2 Detector...just waiting on contractor...
ü  Also, Mary J. has received her Video Phone {Sorenson VP} due to facilitation by Fila Service Crew
ü  Successfully addressed Civil Rights issues with Save-A-Lot grocery stores to include additional training for employees and managers in regards to the ADA Law and Service Animals. In this case both parties came out WINNERS!
ü  Found homes for several of Alice’s Alley’s.
ü  Helped to care for several of them in Our own home.
ü  Elder woman would rather remain anonymous – had her garage door repaired.
ü  This same woman had her kitchen sink drains rerouted upon discovering a leak.
ü  Held Our quarterly meetings – Successfully to include Councilman Smith in Attendance
ü  As an extra boost to Fila Service Crew – 1st Lt. /Mr. Smith has extended Toys for Tots to include Fila Service Crew, Our area, members and contact families and Us.
ü  12 contractor bags and 1 box FULL of Toys for Tots were delivered to Us for distribution by Usallowing 34 boys & 23 Girls along with their families have a Merrier Christmas & all that is...

ü  Added Crew Services Coordinator, Natalie F.
ü  Grown to, at present, 18+ members {8 of whom are highly active within Our Organization} some from FB, MeetUp and Neighborhood

ü  Have grown a steady following around town of 11 +
ü  Received 1st GoodSearch Check
ü  Successfully launched and taught “Pet the Owner Before You Pet the Dog” © Program – proper approach is one of the best ways to avoid ‘mishaps’ with ANY dog not just service dogs!
ü  Member Josie B – began learning sign language through contact and support from Fila Service Crew & other D/deaf & HoH members.
ü  Work still in progress… Another sprouting “Branch” from Our tree is the Classes We are in the midst of organizing now – to begin shortly, hopefully!
ü  Have a local High School prepping to come work with and for Fila Service Crew as part of their “Learn to Work” Program… that too is still in the works  – lots of planning and organizing still to be done
ü  New venues and more activities in progress and will be announced as time draws nearer.
ü  NEW - Crew Engineering Department is in progress of set up now…not sure as to how much longer to get it running but it is on its way!
ü  “Pet Food Pantry” has inadvertently begun… Our first client to benefit from the “Pet Food Pantry” of course Alice’s Alley’s.
ü  Our plans for “Lending Closet” is also being dealt with – this will be a longer process due to getting the manufacturer’s  warranty authorizations in place before actual compensation comes into play… unfortunately this may be the longest wait of everything else.

$20 gets you 3 games and shoes...A door prize ticket will be made available at the sign in table - as you sign in and get your ticket to bowl you will get a door prize ticket as well.

Ok…PART of the rest of the story... first - the delivery of toys - the breakdown of the truck that delivered - the family that helped to restart the truck gave US a thank you note that actually should have gone to 1st Lt/Councilman Smith - when he read the note and I told him it was from her, pointing at the neighbor, he, mister big tough Marine was visibly moved - invited her to the back of the truck and as he opened the tailgate {that very second} saying help your self - the truck miraculously started and the U-Haul tow truck showed up and the thank you note read "If not for you our kids would have nothing! Thank you the Byrons"
Christmas is a time of magical events and happenings – this is one of those magical moments especially for that family – the truck broke down long enough to get that family a little more ‘magic’ into theirs and their kids life! The United States Marine Corp. rarely if ever get the recognition they deserve for all the joy & magic they bring to the less fortunate children and parents of Our Communities.
Here are a few Pics ---there are more on the way due to Nat F, along with US making the delivery rounds we both took pics and Nat got some video…… The last family we delivered to even gifted us … Our Special needs Foster Parents were thankful and thrilled that We did this and included them. Mark got a binky and I got French Lavender body assortment. Thank You Ruth L and the entire family. That was an unexpected and unnecessary blessing to US! Stay tuned – more to follow – not all deliveries have been made yet…still 7 more families to go that will receive theirs later today or tomorrow…
We also received a much needed donation of $50 for Fila Service Crew – thank you – you know who you are!
AMAZING!!! Toys for Tots - Councilman & First Lieutenant Peter I. Smith made the delivery this evening. 34 Boys 23 girls and their families + a last minute 3 children will be having a very MERRY CHRISTMAS! Peter saw 2 of the families tonight as they received their children’s goodies... It is funny how the delivery truck would not start after the drop was made - even with a jump...the truck would NOT start! Not until after the 1st delivery was made a few doors down and that family's mom came to Our door to drop off a 'thank you' card... while that family’s' dad tried to help start the truck I carried the note out to Councilman/1st Lt. Smith... well you are going to have to wait for the rest of that story until official posting - after all deliveries are made and pics uploaded and down loaded and all the NEWS is in! Merry Christmas From Us and Our Crew to ALL of You and Yours ~ Merry Christmas!

We owe our supporters a debt of gratitude for letting us know - our pics, faces, likenesses, members pics {babies without mothers permission}, and defamatory comments are still being posted even with the Cease and Desist on March 28th,2012 - Plagiarism - disrespect for the disabled community and its vulnerable people!

Still Using OUR Photos, Names & Likenesses - verbal permission given to use long ago has been revoked for 2 months now {March 28th to be exact} - yet this still happening. No respect for any one or thing! OK... let's just see!  Publicly accused = Publicly denounced!
Unfortunately – We MUST inform and Alert Our public, friends and supporters to Be aware!
Yes a lot of people pointed out Renegades meetup page still have the innuendos of impropriety. No they have not returned the funds they claim they have or have they removed the photo we took and told them to take down and yes they openly announce a disclaimer that the one having the camera holds the copyrights. Yes they already acknowledged they were not there. Yes we did tell them to remove all references to Fila Service Crew from their page knowing their page would come up in the internet searches. No they still have not returned Billie (a vulnerable adult) MP3 player. We just figured we would just keep pointing people to the website for Maryland Department of Assessments and Taxation and let them see for themselves out of the 17 business names they are using we only found three on record and they have been in forfeiture for more than 2 years for not filing their taxes. I am surprised they still think the public is really that gullible not to check up on them with and believe everything they post. All I can say is to our friends that know the real me and understand how uncompromising my ethics on my stand against exploiting our nation’s most vulnerable, watch their web pages scramble now as I begin to turn up the heat .....Now the fun starts what is really funny is they thought I could be intimidated or afraid to take the issue to court.
ATTENTION: Due to the severity of the issues at hand involving another so called Non-Profit organization – this is the first and hopefully the last time we will have to use FB or any other media to alert the public, our friends and supporters to improprieties of said organization. Seeing we are moving into a larger sector of service it must be made known that others riding our coat tail- in web searches their name pops up under our name – WE, Fila Service Crew, are NOT affiliated with them in any shape, form or fashion.
***There are other issues as well –
On top of being an ILLEGAL & UNAUTHORIZED entity operation here in MD - or any other state for that matter - that we can find - they {Renegades} have wrongfully banned us {& other Crew Members} from the Social group we attended long before they took it over and long before We became Non-Profit {Legally} to include other groups and pages we were members of; we have also been blocked from viewing their content – this was done so they could disregard our “Cease & Desist & Revocation of rights to use OUR pictures/likenesses, Comments etc.” in an undercover/underhanded manner - also, they are using pictures from an event they DID NOT Attend NOR have representation for ; during said event {the same evening of the event We, Fila Service Crew and Our Board decided we would NOT continue with this group in any manner any longer but would keep Our verbal contract and split the proceeds of that evening only – which We did and as is already stated – they have NOT returned – we will not accept anyway! A certified letter for same Cease & Desist was refused and returned} as well they and their Board members have issued PERSONAL THREATS against Me/us - when that didn't work out the way they wanted they then dragged the CREW as a LEGAL Entity into it - intimidation and bullying tactics were used. A voice recording is in evidence! E-mails from the so called Board Members is in evidence as well as other on-line conversations and assurances of representation for the so called Joint fund raiser - Agreements were NEVER signed for OUR Fund Raiser - Renegades NEVER sponsored - co-sponsored nor had any OTHER TIES to the Duck Pin Fund Raiser of February 25th, 2012 & Therefore were NOT entitled to ANY THING much less the information of the door prize and 50/50 raffle - they want to talk about Our ethics and us not being forthcoming to/with the public – they want to bad mouth us on their web pages & elsewhere publicly ; well, we are very forthcoming and one of those proofs is that we - Fila Service Crew - did not give out information to them nor any other persons/entities that was not authorized despite Renegades insistence and intimidation and bullying tactics! We did not violate OUR Fund Raiser attendee’s confidence or privacy - we did not violate any - NOT 1 law - not even under their ILLEGAL pressures.

Fila Service Crew will be meeting the “THUNDER” at Maryland House rest stop on I 95 { Maryland House, Aberdeen, MD 21001} – Friday May 25th, 2012 at 12:30 P.M. and caravanning down to DC for a Grand time of recognition of OUR Veteran Men & Women that pay the ULTIMATE cost for our freedom and liberty.
With this being Memorial Day Weekend we feel it is important to show Our support for our troops and ‘Rolling Thunder ®, Inc.’s’ cause. They too are a Nonprofit Organization geared to help MIA’s and POW’s along with the families of these brave Men and Women that serve US.
Fila Service Crew also is geared to help OUR Veterans – those that have become disabled {*Handi-Capable} defending our rights. So, WE do hope that ALL of you will join us as we join the “ROLLING THUNDER®” decent on DC and Virginia to make the importance of Our troops known to the world.
